About the Role
Currently, we are seeking highly enthusiastic and experienced support workers to assist with supporting participants. The aim is to ensure that our recipients can participate meaningfully in their family and community life. Support Workers are at the forefront of delivering quality care services in accordance with participant's individual care plans. As a support worker, you will undertake a variety of tasks to support clients to live their lives their way and help them remain in their own homes. These tasks can include domestic assistance, facilitating meal times, client movement and transport, personal hygiene assistance, communication support, assistance with recreational activities and high-needs personal care. You will also have the opportunity to facilitate activities for small groups of participants.
What we need from you:
- Availability for shifts
- Willingness to travel up to 30 minutes for work
- A strong desire to provide quality client service and the ability to make that connection so that you are welcomed you into their home
- Flexibility and ability to be adaptive
- Ability to provide assistance with housework including preparation of meals
- Highly professional and able to act in a compassionate, non-judgmental manner
- Current police check less than 3 months old or willingness to undertake one with Annecto
- Current First Aid (with 12 months to run) and CPR Qualifications (with 3 months to run) or willingness to complete prior to employment
- Current drives license and own transport vehicle with comprehensive insurance
- Fully Covid Vaccinated (Including Booster)
What would be great to have:
- Fluency in an second language to speak (eg Turkish, Chinese, Vietnamese or Macedonian), would be an advantage
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Aged Care, Disability Care or higher
- Knowledge and experience in a similar industry/organisation
- Cultural connection - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples are encouraged to apply
- Completed the online NDIS worker orientation module - Quality, Safety & You
