The Role:
As our busy practice continues to grow, so does the need to grow our reception team. We are looking for casual Medical Receptionists to join our Inala practice, to offer support to our central reception team and be available to fill shifts at short notice if needed. The ability to stay flexible with your availability will be highly advantageous in this position.
The candidate will be responsible for working collaboratively within the practice, providing high quality customer service all patients. This role will see you managing a busy front desk reception with a diverse and complex patient base, welcoming patients to the Practice, supporting health care professionals as well as general administration duties. You will report directly to our friendly Practice Manager and liaise closely with other managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greeting patients and welcoming them into our Practice
- Collecting & entering patient details into the database
- Making appointments, maintenance of appointment system and follow up of patients requiring recall
- Any other administrative duties as directed by the Practice Manager.
- Answering a high volume of calls & enquiries
- Administration support and other ad hoc duties (Filing, faxing, scanning, sending mail etc.)
- Ensuring the upkeep and tidiness of the waiting room, reception area and common areas
- Private billing of patients
- Following up on outstanding fees
The Successful Candidate
The successful applicant for this position will have:
- General practice experience (min 2 years) (essential)
- Knowledge of the Medicare Schedule, Workcover etc (essential)
- Outstanding customer service skills with a positive, friendly attitude
- Neat and professional presentation
- The ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage your time in a fast-paced environment with meticulous attention to detail
- Computer literacy - intermediate MS Office skills, and an aptitude for learning new software
- Knowledge of Medicare and Workcover
- Knowledge in mix billing
- A high professional work ethic with compassion and commitment to patient care
- An ability to work well as part of a multifaceted team and independently
Desirable Criteria:
- Ability to speak multiple languages including any of the following: Vietnamese, Swahili, Arabic, Spanish (would be an advantage)
- Experience dealing with vulnerable patients with a variety of communication barriers
- Understanding of the accreditation standards for general practice
